The i-Steel model is a grinder designed for the public arena, but it can sit in your kitchen very nicely. It has a great industrial heft and strength to it, perfect for the workplace or the café. It is also one of the only models in the i-series to come with such options as a knockout box for collecting grounds and an electric timer. The knockout box is a metallic shelf that can slide on and off the front of the machine. The i-Steel also retains the Micrometric Regulation System, the adjustment mechanism that allows one to set the fineness of the grind in very small increments. Ascaso’s unbreakable plastic hopper is also part of the model. I-Steel I-2 employs 54mm flat burrs.

One of the nicest features of the I-Steel is the second power button located directly below the grinds chute. Simply place the desired container below the chute and press it up against the button. The machine will then grind the beans and fill your container. When you have filled up the container to the desired amount, simply release the pressure on the power button and the machine will stop.
